Richard Topolewski is a Patent Attorney specializing in preparing and prosecuting patent applications for inventions related to advanced technologies in electrical, fuel cells, computer algorithms, software and has a strong interest in nanotechnology and solar energy.
Before becoming an attorney Richard worked in the Engineering and Information Technology industries for over 20 years. His experience includes: Software Development - internet technology, many programming languages, encryption, and some real-time systems; Automotive Systems and Analysis - suspensions, body-in-whites, window lift mechanisms, seat recliner mechanism, electrical analysis software; Assembly Quality - variation modeling, vehicle test & measurement equipment, GD&T; Business - supply-chain management., procurement & supply, and mortgages.
Richard is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Richard was notified of passing the Michigan Bar Exam in October 2011 and will be sworn in as an attorney in November 2011.
Richard Topolewski received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kettering University (previously known as GMI) in 1989 where he completed the 5 year program in 4.5 years and did his Undergraduate thesis on Magnetic Finite Element Analysis software for General Motors Research, a Juris Doctor Cum Laude from Cooley Law in 2010, and is currently pursuing a LLM in Intellectual Property from Cooley Law School.
